Halpert & Rüth Höflich
20.-22.04.22

Ingesting the world in bits keeps us alive, keeps us part of the loop, the weird spiral: host, guest, predator, prey, farmer, farmed. Eating and Drinking is a three-day experiment in participatory learning. Through daily presentations and collective questions, participants are invited to playfully hypothesize by way of taste, conviviality, and consumption on the topic of appetite.

Drawing on the history and obligations of hospitality as research and poetic methodology (The Still Life, Clarice Lispector, the Manifesto Antropofago, Gordon Matta Clark, Daniel Spoerri, Agnes Varda, amongst others) we serve, taste, digest, and wash up together. The menu is the protocol for group study and the table is the lab.

Short biographies

Halpert/Höflich is the collaborative practice of H.A. Halpert and Ruth Höflich.
